Hi, I’m Kathleen Dames, and this is The Knit. It’s completely free to access and read, but if you would like to support my work, please consider a paid newsletter subscription for $5 per month or $50 annually. Thank you! Your support helps me create more knitting patterns and fun content ad-free. Thank you so much.
Today’s category is Skirt, so it’s time to visit French Line from the Summer issue of Filament. I knit this design in Quince & Co. Sparrow, and linen is a perfect choice for a summer version of this skirt, which has an eyelet waistband and i-cord tie, as well as reverse stockinette triangular gores to give the hem a little flip. It’s a favorite to throw over a bathing suit on the way to the beach, and I’m now thinking about a wool version for cold-weather wear.
And, yes, that is my tuchus right there for all the world to see. My Filament co-editor Ann and I met up at a lighthouse in Maryland for this photo shoot, and the way to make the whole thing work was to have me model and Ann photograph the designs.
Don’t forget to use code ADVENT2021 for 50% off all the Advent patterns. We’re almost finished for this year…
xxoo, Kathleen
