Hi, I’m Kathleen Dames, and this is The Knit. It’s completely free to access and read, but if you would like to support my work, please consider a paid newsletter subscription for $5 per month or $50 annually. Thank you! Your support helps me create more knitting patterns and fun content ad-free. Thank you so much.
Vines: a lacy tank is a lovely layering piece that can be worn much of the year (year ‘round if you knit it in cotton or linen) with a pretty lace pattern that not only is easy to remember but gives a pretty wavy edge to the hem. It’s not one of those things that you need, like a hat or scarf, but once you’ve got one in your wardrobe, you will look for all sorts of chances to wear it: with a tee or tank in warmer months, over a blouse and under a blazer when it’s chilly (and you need a pop of texture and color). The lace is charted and written, and there’s no finishing beyond weaving in ends - some clever stuff creates the top edges and straps - so you’ve run out of excuses!
Happy knitting!
xxoo, Kathleen
P.S. That picture is from so long ago!
