Looking for something fun to knit that he (or let’s be real plenty of shes) won’t think too fussy? I highly recommend the Vesey St. Vest with it’s one-piece construction, handsome slip-stitch fabric, and pockets. Bonuses for this garment include no sleeves (the knitting goes so much faster when you’re making clothing without sleeves), short-row shaping to build up the shoulders, and work-as-you-go garter stitch edgings, which leaves you with almost no finishing work - just sew on some great buttons.
My oldest daughter borrowed my sample to play Laertes in a classroom bit of Hamlet acting, but I have a feeling I’m not getting that sample back. Vests seem to (once again) be having a moment, and as a knitter who occasionally gets stranded on Sleeve Island, I’m not mad.
Take half off Vesey St. Vest and all the Advent patterns with code ADVENT2021 in my Payhip and Ravelry shops.
What will tomorrow bring to knit? Until then…
xxoo, Kathleen

I definitely misread this pattern name as Vesty St. Vest and I didn't even question it 😂
